I am getting ready to begin the journey of adoption and have many questions. Tomorrow I am calling my chosen agency for all the answers. I have a few, though, I would like to ask real adoptive parents out there knowing the answers are coming from a reliable source.
1. Is it hard to get an adoption low interest loan or grant and if you know, what are the requirements?
2. Must I go through a full medical exam in order to be able to adopt through an agency?
3. Can a birth mother change her mind once I bring my baby home and paperwork is completed?
(I heard before she can change her mind for up to six months)
4. Are the wait periods really between 2-5 years?
5. Is adopting a US infant hard?
6. Do I need to go to court for anything during the process?
7. What does the homestudy consist of and what can go wrong?
8. Must I be married?
9. Are the chances they will adopt a newborn to me lesser due to being age 21?
Thank you so much for any information answers!!
